What's Happening!

Sorry it has been so long since this blog was updated. We have been very busy here at the Eldorado Memorial Library. This year we have upgraded our circulation system. The new SHARE catalog now encompasses The entire Illinois Heartland Library system and is the largest library consortium in the United States.

Illinois Heartland Library System covers 28,141 square miles and serves a population of 2,248,634. There are 585 member libraries: 41 Academic, 229 Public, 259 School and 56 Special.

We also have added a new Teen Zone and a lot of new books to appeal to this age group.

This is a work in progress and is still evolving, so stop by often and see whats new!

We had a great turnout for the summer reading program called Have Book Will Travel! Our Summer Reading Mascot, Jerry Giraffe kept us guessing as the traveled all around the town.

We held a first ever Family Movie Night in June and a Teen Movie night in July. Other programs included Ag in the Classroom Storytimes, Kid in the Kitchen, Game Nights and The Shakespear Reading Group

The Eldorado Library also purchased a subscription to Zinio digital magazines and continues to provide 10 Gale databases and Southern Illinois Libraries on the Go (downloadable e-Books, Audio Books, Music and Movies) . Visit our website, www.eldorado.lib.il.us for access to these and other online resources.

Come visit your Eldorado Library and see all the exciting new services we have for you!
